Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

At Rent.ph, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our services. Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the site.

2. Information Collection

We collect information that you provide directly to us when you:

• Create an account or profile
• List a property or inquire about a listing
• Communicate with us via email or chat
• Subscribe to our newsletter

This information may include your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and identification documents for verification purposes.

3. Usage of Data

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain our platform
• Verify the identity of guests and property managers
• Facilitate communication between renters and managers
• Improve our services and user experience
• Send you technical notices, updates, and security alerts

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in the following situations:

• With Property Managers: When you inquire about a property, your contact information is shared with the verified manager of that property.
• For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
• Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors who help us with payment processing, data analysis, and email delivery.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our platform and hold certain information. Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent.

We use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to understand how our platform is used and to measure the performance of our advertising. When you are signed in, we send Google Analytics your internal Rent.ph account ID and your email address and phone number. Your email address and phone number are converted into an irreversible hashed code (SHA-256) in your browser before they are sent, so Google receives them in hashed form. This information helps us measure visits and inquiries across your devices. Google uses it in line with its own Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and you can manage ad personalization in your Google My Ad Center settings.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can manage your profile settings directly or contact our support team for assistance in exercising these rights under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.
