PHILIPPINES — More than 3,600 Filipinos took a step closer to owning their dream homes during the "Handog ng Pangulo: Nationwide Open House sa Bagong Pilipinas" held on September 14, 2026. The simultaneous event across 14 locations in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao showcased nearly 3,500 housing units under the Expanded 4PH Program.
A Nationwide Push for Affordable Housing
The open house formed part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to bring affordable and quality housing closer to Filipinos. The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development led the initiative, supported by the Pag-IBIG Fund's eased housing loan terms under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program.
The event allowed aspiring homeowners to visit actual housing sites, view model units, and learn about the application process. It transformed abstract government programs into tangible opportunities that families could see and experience firsthand. The direct engagement helped demystify the homeownership journey for many attendees.
Featured Sites Across the Country
In Luzon, the open house featured Torre De Florencia in Caloocan City, Bocaue Bulacan Manor, Brentwood Residences in Capas, Tarlac, and Crystal Peak Estates in San Fernando, Pampanga. Other sites included Bloomfield Subdivision in Mabalacat City, Pilar 4PH Project in Bataan, and Palayan City Township in Nueva Ecija.
Caya Homes Candelaria in Quezon and Cebu City Residential Park in Pulangbato completed the Luzon and Visayas offerings. In the Visayas, Deca Homes Granada 2 in Bacolod City and Richwood Homes Bohol Dos in Dauis, Panglao, Bohol, welcomed visitors. La Prima Tanjay in Negros Oriental also participated.
Mindanao featured Deca Homes GenSan 2 in General Santos City and an Expanded 4PH Housing Caravan at the New City Hall Lobby in Panabo City, Davao del Norte. The wide geographic spread demonstrated the government's commitment to providing housing options across the archipelago.
Subsidized Financing for Filipino Families
The Expanded 4PH Program offers some of the most affordable financing terms available. Interest rates start as low as 3 percent per annum for low-income and minimum-wage earners. Standard housing loans up to ₱10 million carry rates between 4.5 and 5.75 percent.
These subsidies bring initial monthly amortizations down to as low as ₱2,740.43 in Luzon and ₱4,426.84 in Visayas and Mindanao. The program covers vertical developments, horizontal house-and-lot subdivisions, community housing, and rental options. Accredited builders like SMDC, PH1 World Developers, and Deca Homes are developing units near urban hubs.
Who Qualifies and How to Participate
Active Pag-IBIG Fund members, including locally employed, self-employed, and overseas Filipino workers, are eligible to apply. Families living in informal settlements or danger zones seeking permanent housing are prioritized. The program specifically targets minimum-wage earners and low- to middle-income workers.
The nationwide open house provided a direct opportunity to explore these housing options. More open house activities are planned for other Expanded 4PH projects in the coming months. These will lead up to the National Housing Expo in October, where even more housing opportunities will be showcased.
