ILOILO CITY — The Home Development Mutual Fund, commonly known as Pag-IBIG Fund, has intensified its campaign for accessible homeownership and financial security across Western Visayas. In a recent Kapihan sa PIA episode held in Iloilo City, agency leaders detailed how the fund's massive financial strength is directly translating into better housing opportunities and savings programs for Filipino families.

Unmatched Financial Stability

Area Head Atty. Stanley F. Alayon proudly announced that Pag-IBIG's total assets have now reached a massive P1.316 trillion. This trillion-peso status is firmly backed by a robust net income of P41.349 billion in the first half of 2026, proving the agency's exceptional fiscal management and long-term viability.

The agency's financial integrity is beyond reproach. The Commission on Audit has granted Pag-IBIG an unmodified and unqualified opinion for fourteen consecutive years. This continuous recognition assures members and investors that their hard-earned contributions are secure and managed with the highest standards of transparency and good governance.

Expanding Access to Housing

Just in time for National Shelter Month, the agency successfully concluded its Visayas Housing Fair in Bacolod City on October 28, 2026. The event showcased over 11,000 housing units from 25 participating developers, providing members with a convenient one-stop shop to find their dream homes and connect with top industry partners.

Dr. Kenneth P. Macoy emphasized that now is the ideal time to own a house. Members can take advantage of loan terms extending up to 30 years, ensuring that monthly payments are perfectly tailored to their financial capacity. Interested buyers at the fair were even offered on-site computations to see what suited their budgets.

In Western Visayas alone, housing loan releases have already reached P4.884 billion, benefiting 3,679 members. These accessible financing options are crucial for expanding homeownership among local families, driving regional real estate growth, and supporting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s vision for inclusive housing.

The Power of MP2 Savings

Beyond providing housing, Pag-IBIG remains committed to its mutual provident savings mandate. Mandurriao Branch head Gina P. Lanceta highlighted the highly popular Modified Pag-IBIG 2 program, which recorded an impressive P5.786 billion in savings across nearly 44,000 accounts from January to September 2026.

The MP2 program offers a highly attractive, tax-free dividend rate of 7.12 percent per annum. With a minimum monthly contribution of just P500, members can grow their wealth significantly. The five-year term provides a secure, high-yield investment opportunity for active members and retirees who contributed within the last two years.

Immediate Assistance and Future Opportunities

Understanding the urgent needs of its members, Pag-IBIG also issued P3.061 billion in short-term loans to over 131,000 members. This vital support includes the Special Assistance for Financial Emergencies Loan, which provides up to P10,000 in fast, accessible relief approved in just a few days.

Furthermore, prospective buyers can explore Pag-IBIG Acquired Assets, which are available at up to 30 percent off until December 31, 2026. These comprehensive initiatives ensure that every Filipino has the chance to secure a brighter, financially stable future through reliable shelter and accessible wealth-building tools.
